The #Ferguson Experience

3828569807?profile=original

We are living through a time of dichotomies. What's good for you & your family is not necessarily what's good for me & mine. Clearly this is true for Michael Brown, his family and officer Darren Wilson.

As a Divine spirit living a human existence as an African-American mother, I do not know how to talk to my sons about their rights as African-American males in these United States. It is unfortunate that my sons, who have been educated and raised in American schools, and lived a middle class life, can have their lives taken in cold blooded murder by trigger-happy law enforcement. #TrayvonMartin

To make matters worse, the grand jury decided that Officer Wilson was justified in shooting an unarmed teen and voted not to indict. #MichaelBrown It is at times like these that I understand and agree with the philosophies of H. Rap Brown versus Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.

This Ferguson experience is unexplainable to me. How do I continue to justify social justice to my sons? A society that allows the killing of African-American males is not the answer to its' problems. It's just a matter of time, before my son becomes your son. #removethemaskoffear

What a pitiable situation! I think one needs to narrate the Middle Passage (Slavery Holocaust) story to our children so that they wouldn't be caught unaware and keep wondering why the society that raised them would also be eager to fall them. Self-Knowledge Is the KEY! Once you can can guide them to know their story which is our story, you would have no guilt feelings but if you keep that ugly part away from them and they later found out that is when the feelings of despair, anger and disappointments comes into play. ASE!
