You are invited to join with the Kingsbridge Armory Redevelopment Alliance (KARA) on March 5th to tell the City's Industrial Development Agency (IDA) to postpone a decision on the Related Companies' request for millions in tax breaks until they have negotiated benefits for the community. The Related Companies LP wants to turn the Armory into a shopping mall and they want $13 million dollars in tax breaks to do it. What is the community getting in return? Related is refusing to engage in real negotiations with our coalition for community benefits such as living wage jobs, a local hiring program, community space and recreation facilities. That's not right! Let the IDA know what our community needs at the Armory: Local hiring program Living wage, union jobs Recreation & sports facility Community space Join us for the Press conference and Hearing Thursday March 5th: 9:00 am : Press conference on the steps of City Hall: 249 Broadway, New York, NY (between Bway and Park Row) 10:00 am: IDA hearing: 110 William St., 4th Floor btwn Fulton & John St. 7:45 am: Group will leave from Northwest Bronx Community and Clergy Coalition main office: 103 E. 196th St. @ Creston Ave. Pass on the invitation, flier attached.
