TWO WORLDVIEWS—WHICH WILL YOU PICK? PART 2
Let me shock many of my readers. The term ‘apologetics’ does not appear in the KJV Scriptures. I don’t understand why there are ministries with well-educated Christians who seem to think that those of us who are in Jesus Christ need to apologize for our faith. Further, these same ministries like to ‘soften’ our witness to other faiths and cultures to the point that THEY walk away from us feeling ‘vindicated’ while the Christian appears to be ‘emasculated.’
Would you like to know what the Bible says a believer is supposed to do concerning the faith he holds dear? We are to CONTEND for it, as it is spelled out in The Book of Jude, that small one chapter masterpiece which lay before The Book of Revelation. Further, we who believe in and placed our faith IN Jesus Christ are to earnestly contend for the faith…meaning that we are to view our faith as important, as vital, and—when challenged or sharing our faith—we are to make sure that we take seriously!
How’s that stir your coffee or tea, dear reader?
There are two worldviews at play in our world. Both have many names attached to define them, but they boil down to these two basic belief systems: There is the satanic worldview, which is fueled by the spirit of the age and is always changing, and there is the biblical worldview, which is fueled by Jesus Christ and the Word of God. I do not apologize for being a Christian, and will contend for the faith and MY faith. Those who are involved in the satanic, or spirit of the age worldview do not apologize for their worldview, and daily brag about their fleshly successes.
In Matthew, Chapter 4, I cannot find at any point where Satan apologized for tormenting Jesus in the wilderness. I also cannot find where Jesus apologized for citing three times the following phrase: “It is written.” So much for “apologetics.” The end result? It was Satan—not Jesus—who hurriedly left their encounter, and left Jesus alone to be ministered to by the angels assigned to Him.
So much for the value of ‘apologetics.’ More on this later.
Many in these last days KNOW that there is something ‘major league’ going on in our world. Those who hold to the satanic worldview held by those who are supporters of the spirit of the age are quick to offer excuses and ‘theories,’ figuring that mankind will produce the right answers if given enough money, time, and resources—that is, until life happens to them past their explanation/safety zone.
It will take contenders NOT apologizers to get the lost into The Ship of Zion before it sails.
Those who hold to the biblical worldview—fueled by Jesus Christ—know that Bible Prophecy is not a joke as Jesus IS coming back at any time. Further, Jesus—as I mentioned before—is the spirit of Prophecy. Thus, when HE says something in His Word, you can rely on it coming to pass. The satanic worldview looks OUT. The biblical worldview looks UP. To make it even more clear, the satanic worldview follows after sin and evil; the biblical worldview follows after righteousness and holiness.
My friend, you have the right to choose your worldview. Only ONE worldview can—with the Holy Spirit—accurately understand and interpret Bible Prophecy. However, each worldview comes with a cost. We’ll cover that soon. Meanwhile, let me get back to how Christians are to reach out to a lost and dying world(view) in these last days. I can best sum it up by the following:
*The Christian is to Contend for the faith. (Jude 1L3 KJV)
*The Christian is to Reason through the faith. (I Peter 3:15 KJV)
*The Christian is to Evangelize to share the faith. (Matt. 28:18-20 KJV)
*The Christian is to Testify to prove that they have the faith. (Rev. 12:11 KJV)
Remember this list when someone wants to bring up “apologetics.” Also remember the following list:
*The Apostles never apologized for walking in or demonstrating their faith.
*The First Century Christians did not apologize to Rome for their faith and died for it.
*The Reformers never apologized when appearing before various tribunals.
*The Puritans never apologized for turning against social evils and living holy.
*The Pilgrims did not apologize for building a new life in America to bring the Gospel.
This is the cost of holding a biblical worldview. You don’t back down, and you don’t back off from controversy. You could land in jail or on the chopping block; you could lose your wife, children, job, career, or church. Further, you could be dismissed, disregarded, and left alone. However, in the world to come, you will have the Rapture in your belt, and eternal life with Jesus Christ as your prize for sticking to your guns for the faith.
What is the cost of the satanic worldview? Satan will never tell you the full, eternal cost of following him to the same destination where unbelievers, the wicked, and the sinners will go—a Christless eternity in Hell and the Lake of Fire. The satanic worldview will also cost you family, friends, and finances.
