“𝗦𝘁𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝘆𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗴𝗿𝗼𝘂𝗻𝗱” 𝗽𝗿𝗼𝗺𝗼𝘁𝗲𝘀 𝗴𝘂𝗻 𝗲𝗽𝗶𝗱𝗲𝗺𝗶𝗰
Because of Florida’s “Stand your ground” law, George Zimmerman stalked unarmed black teenager Trayvon Martin and eventually shot him to death without suffering legal consequences. Since then “Stand your ground” attitude has been adopted all over America whether it is legal or mot. Examples are:
- Teenager is shot by homeowner because he mistakenly went to the wrong address
- Texas teenage girl cheerleader is shot because she mistakenly went to the wrong car in a parking lot
- In Florida, a neighbor shot to death a mother of four with her 9-year-old son standing right beside her because of a dispute over her children trespassing.
Your enemy might have a gun. “Stand your ground,” So shoot him before he shoots you. “𝙊𝙤𝙤𝙥𝙨..𝙄 𝙙𝙞𝙙𝙣’𝙩 𝙠𝙣𝙤𝙬 𝙝𝙚 𝙙𝙞𝙙 𝙣𝙤𝙩 𝙝𝙖𝙫𝙚 𝙖 𝙜𝙪𝙣.”
A Jehovah’s Witness at the door is risking his life. “Stand your ground” by putting him in the ground. “𝙊𝙤𝙤𝙥𝙨…𝙄 𝙩𝙝𝙤𝙪𝙜𝙝𝙩 𝙝𝙞𝙨 𝙗𝙞𝙗𝙡𝙚 𝙬𝙖𝙨 𝙖 𝙜𝙪𝙣.”
This “stand your ground” mentality is killing innocent, unarmed people and it will be tough to get that genie back in the bottle. Domestic violence will become gun violence. A simple mugging will become gun violence. You get the picture? Have you got a gun yet? The irony is that the more guns we have is the less safe we will be.
