Republican Lies, Lies and More Lies

President Trump is probably the biggest liar of all times. According to the Washington Post Fact Checker’s database, Trump told 30,573 lies in his four years as president. Facebook, Instagram and Twitter banned him because of his lies. Of course he crowned it off with his “biggest lie”, that he won re-election. Now, 70% of the Republican have swallowed that lie and even worse, Republicans must regurgitate it as a Republican loyalty requirement. Liz Chaney was kicked out of her leadership Republican Party role because she refused to   believe and promote that lie. Republicans have always used lies as their most powerful political strategy. Now it is more blatant than ever making truth, honesty and integrity irrelevant.

I am I am amazed that lies have become acceptable in politics. But, why should they be limited to politics? Lies can be a very powerful tool in so many respects. Already, many use lies in business to amass great wealth. Fake news was relatively rare before Trump, but now it has become prevalent. Now, many spouses will have license to lie their heads off. Why should we tell our children to always tell the truth and not lie? A really smart contemporary George Washington would have lied about cutting down the cherry tree. Of course, one has to be careful about lying in court for fear of being charged with perjury. Can you imagine our leaders lying to the UN? This acceptance of lying will open up a whole new world.

But, it will be an ugly despicable world and I want no part of it. Let us leave that ugly despicable world to the Republicans as we continue to value truth, honesty and integrity. You could be a billionaire. You could be the mighty president of the United States of America. But, if you are a chronic liar, you will not get any respect from me. Finally, I wonder why any honest person would remain Republican while the party is under the heel of Trump.
