While this mini-book has been out since late 2010, it has two distinct things going for it. First, its size--just right for pocket or backpack. Second, the fact that it has a distinct biblical connection. In the end, the wisdom factor from Pervis Taylor III will keep young people turning the pages for the 30 days worth of character-building inspiration. No texting involved…but reading and thought WILL be required!

 

“Pervis Principles Volume I,” gives a big presentation in a small format. It’s nice to see a young brother getting into the writing spotlight in an age where everyone has to have ‘a name’, or, do everything in 140 characters or less. The ‘Principles’ (70 pages, Right Angle Entertainment LLC) are based upon the Book of Proverbs, but are told in a modern, applicable style.

 

Taylor has a background as a Life Coach and a growing presence on the Internet. His video nuggets on Youtube are a joy to watch, as he has a style of relating to young people that doesn’t turn them off. What I like about Taylor’s written work is that it pays tribute to those who have helped him along the way, showing the beauties of giving respect to his elders and family.

 

“Pervis Principles Volume I,” has already staked out a following in Canada. Internet talk show warrior Dr. Vibe (of the award-winning “Vibe and Vegas Show”) let On Line Reviews know about Taylor’s work, and it wasn’t long before it came across the electronic frontier to our hands.
