Seminar Friday August 26th On How To Apply For $5,000-$35,000 Small Business Loans From Southside Community Federal Credit Union
This community economic empowerment campaign in poor neighborhoods was the last campaign of Dr. King's "Operation Breadbasket" and I remember being a part of the youth consumer clubs that taught poor communities how to use their economic power to build business and jobs and so this effort is a true reflection of how to celebrate Dr. King and the "substance" of his real work and not just the usual symbolism that comes with his annual tributes.
"Keeping a slice" of the economic bread in poor communities to sustain and increase new Black business and local jobs is the best example to pay real tribute to the last campaign of Dr. King's as well as commemorating the 90th Year Anniversary of the 1921 Race Riots of the original Black Wall Street District of Tulsa Oklahoma and an example of what the substance of a Black Wall Street movement represents today, We want to use this local example as what poor communities can do like this across the country with the economic partnerships that Dr. King promoted in his Poor People's Campaign and The Black Wall Street Movement"
