Cory Booker and Jamaal Bowman are true heroes for risking political death by speaking up against the Israeli genocide against the Palestinians in Gaza. AIPAC and other powerful rich pro-Israel lobbies made sure they did not survive their primaries by pouring millions of campaign dollars against them. This has reinforced the intimidation these lobby groups have against any politician that speaks up against this Israeli genocide. So very few speak up. The silence is deafening.
The person most responsible for the genocide is not Netanyahu, but Joe Biden. Arming Netanyahu was okay, but with no restrictions even when Netanyahu ran amok to commit obvious horrible war crimes. Biden enabled Netanyahu. Biden is an accomplice in Netanyahu’s war crimes. As of this (2024) August over 41,000innocent Palestinians have been killed, including over 15,000 children. The Israelis have blocked their access to food, medicines, clean water and worse. Can you imagine hundreds of amputations without anesthesia? Besides, Israel is spreading the war to the West Bank! History will place Netanyahu and Biden along with Adolf Hitler.
But, Biden could salvage his legacy. He is not running for re-election, so he is free from the domination and manipulation of AIPAC and the other powerful Israeli lobbies. He should take advantage of this new found freedom to place the overdue conditions on American money and military aid to Israel. I propose three conditions for continued support for Israel in which Israel should:
- Immediately, stop blocking Palestinian access to food, medicines and clean water.
- Agree to a permanent cease-fire upon recovery of the hostages
- Should comply with UN Security Council resolutions and ICC rulings.
Biden is in a unique position. He is the only one who can save the Palestinians. If he does nothing, the Israelis will eradicate every Palestine man, woman and child. His choice is to be a savior or to become just another Adolph Hitler.
