No Merry Christmas

I did not have a merry Christmas. It was miserable. I dreaded hearing the news of the genocide of the Palestinians. How can I be merry when such a war crime is being committed by Israel and with the help of my own country, America? America has rendered the UN Security Council helpless to support a ceasefire by threatening to veto any such resolution. Politicians, that I have respected and even admired, have failed to speak up and some have even defended these atrocities.

The NATO countries in particular have been complicit by their silence and like America have completely lost my respect. Other countries are obviously too afraid of America to speak up in opposition. This has created a world in which  peace, justice and compassion is irrelevant and “might is right” prevails. Rule America, America rules the world!

But, there is a slim hope. The majority of Americans oppose this heinous American policy.
