Africa

Mr. President, we salute your efforts and patriotism in making Rwanda a better place than it was 20years back.  We also understand that some people are bitter about your progress and this is normal. We are highly indebted in you putting Rwanda in the global economic map, a peaceful country, a place where people live in harmony with each other; you have developed a dynamic workforce for a dynamic economy and leading example in the work for women empowerment, participation in political, economic and social space.

It is a well-known fact that political leadership are not only judged by their achievement during their terms of office, but also by the efforts they invested in grooming the next generations continuity, this way your progress will remain sustainable to the people and country you have been serving almost all your life. We have no doubt whatsoever that you have groomed a number of leaders in various positions during your tenure. These men and women are capable to carry on the revolution you have started and take it to the pre-determine glories.

Africa Speaks applauds your good work for the continent in terms of leadership and economic developments achieved so far and in this regards, deem it absolutely necessary to pronounce you one of Africa’s greatest leader just like: Patrice Lumumba of Congo DRC, Samora Machel of Mozambique, Jomo Kenyatta of Kenya, Thomas Sankara of Burkina Faso, Julius Nyerere of Tanzania, King Haile Selassie of Ethiopia, Kwame Nkrumah of Ghana and Gamal Abdel Nasser of Egypt.

We advise you to emulate the likes of great leaders by passing on the baton like: Nelson Mandela of South Africa, Alpha Oumar Konare of Mali, Pedro Verona Pires of Cape Verde, Festus Morgae of Botswana, Joaquim Chissano of Mozambique, Goodluck Jonathan of Nigeria, Hifikepunye Pohamba of Namibia and Jakaya Kikwete of Tanzania, they all did this for the love of their countries despite the fact that they could carry on leading..

Our humble appeal to encourage you not to be part of Africa’s dark days leadership legacy, that of: Idi Amin Dada of Uganda, Blaise Compaoré of Burkina Faso. Zine El Abidine Ben Ali of Tunisia, Kamuzu Banda of Malawi, Gaafar Nimeiri of Sudan, Siad Barre, of Somalia Ahmed Sékou Touré of Guinea and those who unfortunately pass-on while in office and with a tarnished reputation.

You have absolutely well and have built a society from nothing to a thriving economy. Mr. President, give the coming generations the chance to learn from your leadership model, emulate and sustain your contribution as head of state and your involvement in the developmental process out of political office. Indeed no need to be in a government hierarchy to contribute and to promote developmental agenda of the country, there are several political and social spaces that one can use to make a difference.

Mr. President we have enough emotional suffering in our continent that with those leaders who expired while in their office considering themselves indispensable, we have enough pain with those who think that law manipulation give them legitimate right to stay in power by undermining the intelligence of the society, however the population is vigilant for those who are maneuvering around using the extent of poverty and ignorance in the society, however they will be punishable sooner or later.

We are hoping that the current exercise of referendum will sever to know the love and approval rate of Rwandese people towards the current leadership and perhaps a bonus one term to serve without touching the constitution. Changing the constitution will leave a bad signaling and legal proceedings a generation to come. Hoping that you will not leave a legacy of manipulating constitution to remain in office. Let’s not call you as one of our time Africa dictators, let’s call you a goodwill dictator with those who agree and disagree with your leadership style.

Let us remain with clean mind as you gave us a clean Kigali.

African problem African Solution!!!

Yours In Pan Africanism

Seife Tadelle Kidane

President
