Good has been rendered irrelevant

I remember a long, long time ago when I just became a student at Howard University. I was fresh from Jamaica and a naΓ―ve, loyal subject of the British Empire. Unbelievably, I was a severe critic of the Egyptians for taking their Suez Canal back from their British colonial masters. In the Howard University environment, I wised up soon and came to recognize the evils of colonialism.
I, myself, and all my colleagues, developed a passion for politics. We did not all agree, but most important, we were all altruistic. We wanted to make a better world. We wanted to do good.
Today, doing good is irrelevant in politics. America, both Democrats and Republicans, have supported the worst crime of all. They have supported the Israeli genocide against the Palestinian men, women and children.
My leader has to be a good person. Trump is not a good person. The president of the United States of America is a racist, lying, sexual-abusing and jingoistic egomaniac with no redeeming qualities. Not good.
Making people suffer is not good. For over 60 years America has been making Cuba suffer by imposing a blockade on that little country. Year after year after year, the United Nations has ruled against this blockade by as high as 184 countries to 2, the two countries being America and Israel. Under pressure from Trump since, some countries, especially in the Caribbean, have abstained on this vote. This is not good.
Here in America, I am forced to vote for the lesser of two evils for president. Even worse, the last time, the lesser of the two evils, were too good to win, so lost. Good has become a political liability. How, I long for the return of good but I see no sign of that on the horizon. But, I will stick with good, regardless of how unpopular it gets
