With its ochre sandy beaches, safe seas, magnificent colonial architecture, exotic wildlife, carnival like spirit of people, eco tourism spots and diverse geographical marvels Goa attracts millions of tourists to its lap.

Goa, the tiniest state of India is located in the Konkan Coast of Western India.

Goa has always been synonymous with beaches for a long time and to a larger extent still is. But it is slowly changing. Other attractions of Goa are also getting the attention of tourists. Goa to its eastern part homes Western Ghats which is declared a bio-diversity spot by UNESCO that is a region endowed with rich and diverse flora and fauna. There are several wildlife and bird sanctuaries in Goa which nature lovers seek to frequent rather regularly.

The prominent beaches of Goa are Arambol, Mandrem, Morjim, Vagator, Anjuna, Baga, Calangute, Sinquerim, Miramar in the North and Majorda, Betalbatim, Colva, Benaulim, Varca, Cavelossim and Palolem in the south.

Goa especially Western Ghats holds rich and diverse flora and fauna. There are many wildlife and bird sanctuaries showcasing the wealth. The prominent of them are Bondla wildlife sanctuary, Molem wildlife sanctuary, Cotigao wildlife sanctuary, Madei wildlife sanctuary, Netravali wildlife sanctuary, Mahaveer wildlife sanctuary and Salim Ali Bird Sanctuary.

As there are many monuments of colonial architecture on display, there are also many churches which displays Gothic and Portuguese architectural splendor. Some of those churches are Se Cathedral, Basilica of Bom Jesus, Church of Lady of Rosary, Chapel of St. Catherine, Church of Carmelites, Church of St. Cajetan, Chapel of St. Francis Xavier etc. Out of these Basilica of Bom Jesus is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. There are also many fascinating temples and intimidating forts on display – some with Portuguese influence and some not. More attractive of temples are Shree Bhagavati Temple, Brahma Temple, Shree Chandranath Temple, Datta Mandir, Shree Gopal Ganapathi Temple, Kamakshi Saunsthan Shiroda, Madanant Temple and Navdurga Saunsthan. Important forts are Aguada Fort, Cabo De Rama Fort, Chapora Fort, Mormuagao Fort and Tiracol Fort.

The festive mood of Goan people is epidemic. You will feel like partaking in it. There are always festivities going on in every nook and corner. Goa Carnival is a magnificent affair worth celebrating.

As part of eco-tourism there are many spice plantations which welcome tourists to spend some time in nature’s lap. Nodding yes to that invitation means you will be treated with gifts of nature which are refreshing, soothing and gentle. Some of the spice plantations which extend this invitation are Savoi Plantations, Tropical Spice Plantation, Pascoal Spice village, Rustic plantation and Sahkar spice farm.
