"Dreaming of a Blak KRiSTmas!" by Paradise
This morning I had a dream about a Black Christmas!
And it was the most incredible dream!
I dreamed that black people dreamed
About black liberation and other black things...
I dreamed that on Black Friday
Instead of trampling over each other
To get to other people's stores and products
We ran to each other
And had a homecoming that lasted forever!
I dreamed that I went to the corner liqour store
And it had turned into a grocery store
With fresh fruits and vegetables
And there was a brother behind the counter
An O. G. (Original Guru/Griot)!
I dreamed that I went to the local church
And instead of talking about being saved
For a far away God and a faraway Heaven
They were having a townhall meeting
And had decided not to conduct
Another single religious service
Until all the violence was stopped
And all the local deities were saved
From poverty and ignor-ance and premature death
And heaven was reestablished
Right here on earth in our communities!
And I dreamed
There was a crack rock on the block
As big as a boulder
And nobody touched!
And everybody left it there
As a monument, memorial and tombstone
To all the lives the Drug Culture had destroyed!
And I dreamed that the whole family
Was sitting at the dinner table
And none of the females were wearing weaves
And none of the males reeked of malt liqour
Because they were proud of who they were
And instead of grape Kool Aid
Or grape drink, there was real grape juice
And the boys acted like young men
And the girls acted like young women
And there was no confusion!
And the Chistmas tree
Had red, black and green ornaments
And underneath the tree
Were books like The Isis Papers
Stolen Legacy, Before Columbus
The Autobiography of Malcolm X
Gift wrapped in every home!
And in every home in Black America
There was a huge gift wrapped box
Next to every tree
And when the children unwrapped the present
It was daddy! A real father!
And I saw mommy kissing Santa Claus
And it was daddy
And the present he gave us all was himself
A functional black man as leader of the community!
And on the walls where all the family portriats
Were of the women and children of the family
The black man had reappeared
Just like he had been before
Planned Parenthood was devised
To destroy the black family!
And of these wonderful things
And of many more I dreamed
And I am still dreaming...
Of a mass of Blak KRiSTs!
(work in progress right now!)
