The tea party got it right. Move-on, the unions, the green party, the Sierra Club, anti-war organizations and all the progressive organizations got it wrong. That is why the tea party has become a powerful political force and progressive organizations are struggling to even survive.
The tea party did not stay outside and try to influence the Republican Party. No, they moved in and became the Republican Party. Progressives, on the other hand, left the Democratic Party disillusioned, and then tried to influence it from outside it. That only left the Democratic Party more conservative and weaker so that Progressives had even less influence on it. Let us reverse that folly. Sorry Greens, but 5% of the vote will never grow to 50% so that third party strategy won’t work. Instead of trying to influence the Democratic Party, it is time to become the Democratic Party and set it back on its proper course. Let us fill the ranks of the Democratic Party with members of our organizations. We have talented, committed, dedicated, individuals in our progressive organizations. Let us make these individuals Democratic Party club officials instead of the current crop who seem lukewarm to progressive ideas.
The Arab spring in Egypt is a perfect example of this folly. I predicted the outcome. Protestors came out in their millions to overthrow the despotic president. But they had no political base so they were stuck with the unacceptable Morsi as replacement. They got rid of him, but still have no political base so they will once again will end up with some unacceptable president.
Sadly, the Democratic Party is becoming more and more indistinguishable from the Republicans. Let us rescue the Democratic Party now before they merge, and then let’s rescue America next. Let us not wait til Hillary is the next president.

I'm all for Hillary, but only if she is a progressive. DEMS need to stake our claim on being for all people, not just conservative DEMS. I'll campaign for Elizabeth Warren if Hillary doesn't do the right thing and promote a progressive agenda and not that of her husband's (except the economic stuff, which we should mirror exactly). Any concessions to the right will destroy us, as they are so far right it's obscene.
