An Open Email to All of The Heads of State and Government in the Americas!
Your Excellencies:
We hope this open email finds you, your families, and your people in
the very best of health and spirits. Permit us a few minutes of your
time to make this request.
The All-African People’s Revolutionary Party (GC) is the inheritor and
continuator of the mass, revolutionary, Pan-African work of Kwame
Nkrumah, Ahmed Sekou Toure and Kwame Ture, whom you may know as
Stokely Carmichael.
Perhaps you are aware that Osagefyo Kwame Nkrumah suggested that there
are moments in history that are hard to discern, yet fatal if let slip
by. We believe that the Fifth Summit of the Americas, to be held in
Port-of-Spain, Trinidad and Tobago, April 17-19, 2009, is one such
moment in history.
Perhaps you are also aware that Dr. Martin Luther King suggested that
a time comes when silence is betrayal. We believe that time has come,
with respect to Cuba, who has done and continues to do so much for the
People of the Americas and the world.
The A-APRP (GC) believes that this moment in history demands that the
Organization of American States rescind, unconditionally and
immediately, the decision it adopted at its Eighth Meeting of
Consultation in Punta del Este, Uruguay, on 31 January 1962, that
denied the People and Government of Cuba the right of representation
and attendance at OAS meetings and of participation in its activities.
The A-APRP (GC) also believes that this exciting, yet dangerous time,
this time of change in the United States, the Americas and the world,
requires the Heads of State and Government in the Americas to request,
with one unwavering voice, that President Barack Obama lift the United
States Government’s illegal and immoral embargo against the People and
Government of Cuba, and end all travel restrictions, unconditionally
and immediately.
The majority of the People in the United States, 217 million of them,
71%, want the embargo lifted, and 196 million of them, 64%, want an
immediate end to travel restrictions. The Freedom to Travel to Cuba
Act which is cosigned by Senators Byron Dorgan, Michael Enzi,
Christopher Dodd, Richard Lugar and 16 other co-sponsors; the
companion measure which is co-signed by Congresspersons Bill Delahunt,
Jeff Flake and 119 other co-sponsors; and the recent travel to Cuba of
a 7-member Delegation headed by Representative Barbara Lee show that
increasing numbers of Congressional and Senatorial members what these
changes as well.
Equally, if not more important, the United Nations General Assembly,
by a vote of 184 to 4, the First Summit of Latin and Caribbean leaders
in Bahia and the Cuba-Caricom Summit in Santiago de Cuba also called
for the lifting of the embargo and an end to travel restrictions.
Surely these voices, who represent almost all of the Peoples and
Countries of the World, must be heard and respected by the Heads of
State and Government in the Americas who truly love democracy and want
just and lasting peace.
Your Excellencies,
Permit the A-APRP (GC) to respectfully suggest that it is time for
President Obama and President Castro to meet, with no pre-conditions,
as both have said they are willing to do. Permit us to also suggest
that the Fifth Summit of the Americas in Port-au-Spain is a perfect
venue for this long overdue, hemisphere-changing and world-changing meeting.
History and humanity will be forever grateful to you for whatever
effort you make towards the convening and success of this historic and
much needed meeting.
Sincerely
All-African People’s Revolutionary Party (GC)

I think the AAPRP is being destroyed from the inside.Kwame Ture's and Kwame Nkrumah's work is being systematically dismantled. For those who are honest and sincere about Re-Building the AAPRP, we need to get together, network and put things back in order. I invite you to contact me directly to help in the work of Re-Building the AAPRP.
