As we approach the Thanksgiving season in the U.S., I ask for your assistance for which I will be very thankful.
I produced my first film, Africa Straight Up, a dynamic “not your parents’ documentary” about the stereotypes confronting Africa, and an insider’s perspective on exciting developments taking place on the continent in terms of technology, business, education and government. The film is fun. The tagline is: Learn, chuckle and rock to the beat.
I partnered with MTV and some of Africa’s top pop musicians to include music videos and the best of Africa’s hip hop and R&B music. The film is free, and available for all on Africa.com and on Youtube. Early reviews of the film have been extremely positive.
“An absolutely inspiring video – makes me proud to be African!”
“Who knew a film on Africa could be so much fun – I downloaded the music, and now follow the musicians featured in the film. Thank you Africa.com!”
“A 20+ minute tour de force – get the insider’s view on what is really happening in Africa today – positive, but fair and balanced”
My goal is to see the film go viral. And to make that happen, I need your help.
Please watch the film and share it with your friends, colleagues, children, school communities, etc. Please post it to your Facebook Page, and tweet about it. If you have media contacts that would be interested in covering the film, please refer me to them. Send the link to the film out by email or carrier pigeon – whatever works for you.
I hope that you enjoy the film, and find it enlightening, and enjoyable to watch. The film reflects my passion, which is to change the way the world sees Africa. I will be very grateful to you for your support in helping me to achieve this mission on a grand scale.

Wishing you and your family a joyous Thanksgiving holiday.
