This "series of tubes" we call the internet is, to me, a metaphor for the collective consciousness of humanity. There are ways to engage a large group in dialogue online but for the most part the same things can be done offline; just with more work. But in general we all have an effect on the collective just by interacting with others. What you put into human consciousness, imho, is the bigger thing. Because I think we're either raising consciousness or lowering it. Do we use facebook to talk about what Marcus Garvey wanted to do? Or do we use it to talk about our new Nikes?

I use the 'internets' to connect to people who are like-minded and organize to have a larger cumulative effect on the world. The internet presents some amazing opportunities and it takes some level of strategy to take advantage of it. I am a web developer so I feel a little more up to the task than most. I will continue to use the internet to build a platform for black economics and connect to get more people to use it. I don't want to give links if I'm not allowed to but yes, I am doing these things now. I'm more of a doer than a talker. So if I talk about problems we have and what we should do I'm probably also doing something too.

Internet gives us the powers to reach out to people in writing and at times by voice and pictures.  What I use interntet for is to organize the disorganized and hard headed Africans whose enslavement for 400 years has deprived them of all understanding of hardship. Our problem is beyoond most of us. Sorrow make happiness by smart Europeans and Arabs We are so happy about our present condition that Kwesi Akyeampong, an Africa with the ability to reach out on internet does not know that everything he wants us to know has been discussed already except such trivial things as this comment. It is not necessry for an African to comment. We have greater works to do with out lives and  to spend a secod of our lives on this issue is to act as a cracy person for we have to continue at least what Marcus Garvey left off due to the Negroes hate for Africa and our love for enslavement. Acheampong, my advise to you is that join your brothers from A.C.P A: Africa, Caribbean, Pacific and America to start to help our imprison, out sick, our widows, out homeless people, our poor prople world wide and to have an office in DC where we can call and complain or leave a comoplaint for us to investigate and report to the nation and the world.  The power of internet is great but Africans only use it to gossip on trivialities.

    Organize.

    • Are you using this forum, TheBlackList, to "organize"? And may I add - Network?
