    I celebrate and commemorate the fact that Malcolm emphasised the importance of education and knowledge of our history.  I also celebrate and commemorate the fact that he emphasised the need for Black-owned businesses in order to help African people, particularly African Americans, to become self-sufficient.  I believe he was influenced by Garvey in this. 

    I disregard some of Malcolm's anti-white rhetoric, but I think it was understandable given the circumstances.  He changed later on, which I particularly respect about him, when he stated to realise the issue was not race or skin colour, or hair colour or eye colour, but economics and economic oppression and exploitation.
