"African Liberation Day was first observed In 1958 on the occasion of the First Conference of Independent African States held in Accra, Ghana. At that time, the 15th of April was declared Africa Freedom Day, “...to symbolize the determination of the people of Africa to free themselves from foreign domination and exploitation”. Later in 1963, upon the founding of the Organization of African Unity (OAU), 31 Heads of African states declared May 25th as African Liberation Day. This important, historic event has been observed and institutionalized in various places worldwide, every year since its inception," Mawuli Kwesi Aboagye

We will not wake up one bright morning and have all our fears and concerns washed away and there were stand in a Free and Liberated Africa. I say Liiberating Africa begins with Liberation Africans - one by one. Only a free and self-determined you and I are able to create a free and self-determined nation.

Since you are the second (I am the first) person in we(the nation), what steps are you taking on and what practice are you putting in place to be one who is free and self-determining?

Africa and Africans will only be free to the extent that you and I are free.

How are you engaged in freeing yourself?
As one who is free, what are you responsible and accountable for?

Africa is not a place some where.
Africa is here where you are, here.
Africa is nowhere without Africans
With out free Africans there no free Africa.
Africa is where Africans are, here.
Free self
Free here
Free Africans
Free Africa

How are you engaged in freeing yourself?
As one who is free, what are you responsible and accountable for?

How am I, engaged in freeing myself? By Self-Determination, one day at a time. I am not free, but I am responsible and accountable for learning and practicing the basic steps; as our ancestors had done, in fighting for our equality, justice, and freedom in every way...even if it cost me my life. Uhuru, or death. Ase'.
