reparations is not about someone giving us anything...we can and must name ourselves, feed ourselves, cloth ourselves, shelter ourselves etc. Reparations is justice...when someone has done a great harm to you what do you do? turn the other cheek or seek redress? how can I burn your house down not once but several times, rape your daughters your wife your mother repeatedly, force you to build my world with no recompense while I treat you lower than a dog and you do nothing about it? everyday you walk by the big house on the hill that I stole from your family, and watch my children play in the yard while your children are relegated to ghettos and mud pies and you simply bow your head as you walk by..when you finally freed yourself from my direct bondage I turned around and extorted reparations from you because of the lost revenue I would incur from losing your free labor...and you ask why reparations? As a people, we are unique. No name. No language. No history. No religion. No culture or traditions that were not all handed to us by our enemy. Reparations? Yes, the root for reparations is "repair". Are we in need of repair? Yes. Pleading with our enemy to show compassion and fairness for reparations is indeed a victimization of our people in that it is a waste of time, money and energy. Our enemy cannot repair us and indeed, his history screams loud and clear that his ultimate goal is our destruction. His biggest problem is how to destroy us while giving the impression that he is caring for us.
If one considers the totality of our situation and weighs the alternatives, one must come to the conclusion that our "repair" will never come from our enemy. Then where will our "repair" come from?
It will begin with the humbling recognition that we are created beings and thus, we have a creator. Our centuries long humiliation, dehumanization, degradation, miseducation and alienation are all well earned due to our ancestors stiff necked, hard headed, stubborn, rebellious, self willed, easily deceived attitude and behavior.
We have been subjected to this process to learn an important lesson - humility and obedience.
Yet, in spite of these centuries of afflictions, many of us continue to display the same attitudes and behaviors of our ancestors. Thus, most of our people along with most of our enemies, will perish in the "great tribulation" that is currently underway, although most pay no attention, as predicted.
So, yes, I agree that the quest for reparations is a victimization of deluded and ignorant people who have no idea who they are and worse, don't care. Their number 1 concern is self, to their detriment and self destruction. It's all written down, but then, who reads today, right? Shalom family.

There now an opportunity for someone else to question and or propose an alternative.
For too long our communities have been bullied and cowed, as you have just done, and made to be afraid to speak up and question the dictates and rhetoric arising from the loudest voices among us.
Here is the opportunity (to cease complaining as a victim and venting reflexive anger) to make the case for reparation.
