With all due respect, I disagree. Racism is an artificial political construct designed to create in the minds of white people their inherent superiority. This propaganda has been so effective that it has become like a religion to most white people, especially those holding the reins of power in this nation. In order to sit in one of the seats of power and authority in this nation, racism is a creed one must agree to uphold at all costs.
We have seen the consequences of all white men in positions of power and authority who dare violate this creed - death. May I name some of the most prominent? Andrew Jackson, Abraham Lincoln, Ronald Reagan, John F. Kennedy, Robert Kennedy, John Kennedy Jr.
And there have been others, at a lower level of power and authority, who have suffered the supreme penalty for violating this sacred creed - maintain racism in the United States of America at all costs.
Black people cannot be racists, for we have no power or authority that we can use to influence the life of white society. On the other hand, whites who wield power and authority throughout the structure, can and do us that power and authority to influence the lives of black folk. It is their system, created and maintained by them to assure that blacks are always the underclass, servants of whites perpetually. This is their desire, aim and birthright.
So, although I agree that we need to come to grips with who and what we are before we can even begin to understand the depth of the depravity of the system, to begin to develop a strategy that will allow us to navigate the system successfully and safely. Unless and until we do the work of identifying who we are and what our relationship with the Most High is, we will never see freedom in this lifetime.
On the other hand, once we know who we are and why we are catching Hell in America today, we can make a spiritual adjustment and reconcile with the Most High, tap into the power of the Universe that is irresistible, even in the face of overwhelming odds. Once we tap into that power by aligning ourselves with that power, success is guaranteed.
To most who will read this post, this is a pipe dream, pie-in-the-sky optimism. To a few, who have a special gift of being able to "see" and "hear" spiritually, this will ring in their hearts as clear as a bell. These few, called "the chosen ones" and "the remnant", will begin a spiritual journey that will lead them into the process of aligning with that ultimate universal power source that is irresistible. Who are they? I don't have a clue, but must share these sacred secrets indiscriminately in order to reach those few.
I agree with Wes. Are you saying that ALL people should discard their culture or just African Americans? I'm sure that Whites will not easily relinquish the privileges of being "White."
