The events this year encompass real experience and understanding of the diaspora through our international programmes and partners from Jamaica and Haiti to SenegalNigeria and the indigenous Australians. Real, live and direct!

LEGACY involves visual arts, photography, film, talks and some seriously live music from Nanci and Phoebe Irondread, Soothsayers, Don Chandler, Potent Whisper, FLOetic Lara, Raw Fire, DJ Snuff, DJ Wulu, Monster Playground and more!

LEGACY schedule:

Tuesday 22 nd  October - 7:30 to 11 pm

  • Haiti journeys - an update with Lyrical Healer, film and discussion
  • Senegal - the West African experience and Hip Hop culture with Nanci and Phoebe, Caxton Press, DJ Snuff and Potent Whisper
  • Live performance with Lyrical, FLOetic, Nanci and Phoebe, DJ Snuff and guests

Wednesday 23 rd  October - 7:30 to 11pm

  • 'Dancing with Strangers' - 'Bushbands and Desert Divas' - a perspective on the indigenous Australian experience with the Raw Roads team. Plus short film
  • 'Songs from Chaos' - Barka Arts - indigenous visual arts culture in central Australia
  • Live performance - Raw Roads, FLOetic Lara, DJ Wulu, Monster Playground and guests

Thursday 24 th  October - 7:30 to 11pm

  • Fela Kuti - Afro Beat history and live session with Soothsayers
  • Reggae Vibes open session with Don Chandler
  • Black History Roots Jam with Soothsayers, Don Chandler, DJ Wulu and Monster Playground

West Indian food and refreshments will be available.
