Frequently Asked Question
What will I be taught on these courses?
All the fundamentals you need to know in order to publish successfully.
Why should I attend these courses and what’s your qualifications?
The chances of being published by a big publishing house is extremely slim especially in today’s economic climate. The best route for you now is to self publish. So if you are going to self publish it’s best to do it right first time. We will empower you with the tools to do so. Our qualifications are that we have over 40 years of combined real world practical experience in all aspects of book publishing.
OK fine, but I can self publish without going on your courses and it won't cost me anything?
Not so true. Many people do try and do it themselves, the problem is because they have not done it before they normally get things wrong and frequently get ripped off by printing companies etc… because they are not equipped with the correct knowledge and questions to ask, don't let that be you. You see you can pay now or pay later but in the end you'll pay one way or another, either in time or money or both. So If you have a lot of money & time to throw away then you don’t need to join us on the 6th December. http://www.bispublishingcourses.co.uk
Yeah but I’m going to produce an e-book and not a printed book, so I don’t need your help?
Don’t be fooled by thinking like that, as much of the (e-book publishing) process is the same as that of printing books, the fundamentals work across platforms. You might be able with a lot of hard work produce an e-book without coming on the courses, that's if all you want is to just produce an e-book. But if you want an e-book that's published correctly and that sells well--then join us on the Thursday December 6th. http://www.bispublishingcourses.co.uk
OK you have nearly convinced me, but what do I get if I attend these courses?
A whole lot of practical, real world advice, based on factual experience. You’ll of course, also experience a dynamic training day. You’ll receive all the course notes, you will be able to network with people in the same position as yourself and best of all the first 5 people to register on the BIS Publishing Courses will receive 15 minutes of free one-to-one coaching over the telephone/Skype by head trainer Michael Williams.

My Story...
I am the CEO of BIS Publications, a UK London based publisher of African and African Caribbean books. I am also the co-author of several books which have been rather successful over the years.
I first started out as a self publisher of my first title which has now developed into an international best-selling series, Black Scientists & Inventors, a group of books which I’m quite proud of. This series continues to sell well year after year in the UK and in many parts of the world. I’m also pleased to say that the Black Scientists & Inventors series of books have now been translated into a number of languages. I was excited to hear at the beginning of 2011 that the Black Scientists & Inventors series, along with our Valiant Women book, was recommended as required reading material for the USA Black History Month by the Congressional Black Caucus, one of the largest African American organizations in the U.S.
As a publisher and author I have had much joy over the years hearing and seeing just how excited children become when they open any one of our titles. I am so inspired when I hear them appeal to their teacher or parent to read Kofi Wanted to be a Bad Boy, Kwaku & His Hearing Aid, Portia’s Story, or True Friends. It’s also great when a parent who feels stressed admits they need a little help and picks up our A to Z of Parenting – an essential guide to effective parenting.
Let me just say if someone had said to me a few years ago that I would publish a number of very successful books that would be read by children in France, Italy, New Zealand, Australia, Holland, Wales, Ghana, Nigeria, Barbados, Jamaica, Brazil, St Vincent, South Africa, Namibia, Tanzania, Kenya, Ethiopia, Botswana, Cape Verde, Martinique, Ecuador, Turkey, Ireland, Scotland, Canada, USA, Pakistan, Indonesia, plus much much more, I would have told them that they were crazy. And if someone had said that I would write an international best-selling children’s title -- not just one but four (incidentally also read by adults) -- I would have just laughed at them. I could not have imagined it, because for starters I can’t ‘right’; I can just about spel – you may have noticed! :-)
I wondered who would bother to read my work, and most of all who would give me the time of day and publish my work. Well, I’m pleased to say that my books have been published and not only read in the UK, but also read by hundreds of thousands of people throughout the world. I plan to make this millions upon millions at some stage in the near future.
I gave you this little background because over the years I have found that there are many people of African descent who have a story to tell but for one reason or another have not had it published. With this in mind I have devised courses based on my years of experience as an author and publisher designed to empower authors of African descent to produce best-selling books and reap the profits.
Please note: You don’t have to be the best writer in the world to have a widely read book or even a best-seller. So:
Don’t you think it’s time you stop thinking about one day writing a book?
Don’t you think it’s time you stop talking about one day writing a book?
Don’t you think it’s time you treat yourself to something that you have always wanted to do now that you have the chance to do it?
Wouldn’t you like to find out how you can make it happen?
If yes, then don't Procrastinate take ACTION and take it NOW!
