SCANDAL AT THE CDC

It's been a little over a year since Centers for Disease Control and Prevention whistleblower Dr. William Thompson came forward, admitting that he and coauthors omitted statistically significant information in their 2004 article published in the journal Pediatrics.

THOMPSON ADMITS

* He and other authors left out research showing that some African American male children, given the MMR Vaccine before the age of two, have increased risks of autism

* That the CDC hid the information

* And that the authors destroyed evidence.

REALITY CHECK

In the CBS46 coverage, Reality Check anchor Ben Swann interviews a small but angry group of protestors outside the CDC demanding answers after Thompson came forward. "There's too much corruption, too much conflict of interest, and our children are paying the price," says one protester interviewed by Swann.
