eHow.com, the free online resource for instructional advice that attracts a staggering 57 million unique visitors each month, now includes a new series on African-American hair care. The series showcases natural-hair expert Cassidy Blackwell of Natural Selection Blog and features Sofn'free's Nothing But products in two of her videos, titled "Styles for Unrelaxed Black Hair" and "How to Remove Volume From African-American Hair." Housed in the website's Style section, the new 3-minute how-to segments are part of eHow's Beauty & Personal Care content and can be found in the expanding Ethnic Hair & Makeup area.

The business of providing advice and products geared toward styling and maintaining natural hair - that is hair that is not chemically treated to look straight - has exploded in recent years. This boom in the market has been driven primarily by African-American women who have "gone natural" to embrace their curly, coily and kinky strands after years of chemically relaxing their hair. As a result, many turn to products, retailers, online resources and meetup groups for guidance on styling their newfound, natural curls.

"Cassidy's use of Nothing But on her signature 'boing boing curls' is easy to follow and gets beautiful results," says Will Williams, Director of Education at M&M Products Company, maker of Sofn'free Nothing But products. He and Blackwell agree that the key to a beautiful wash-and-go is to start with thoroughly clean and conditioned hair, to keep it wet before adding a moisture sealer, and to smooth a styling product down the strands to encourage hair cuticles to lie flat. "A nice shake and long wait until the product's completely dry, and you've got an easy style that works for days," adds Williams.

The two products featured in the videos are Nothing But's Curl Sealer and Pure Pudding, which are part of a lineup of seven that launched earlier in the year. Both have earned praise from print and online beauty experts, stylists and retailers, and both work well together or alone to help enhance natural curls, coils, ringlets and waves.

Nothing But's unusual name and straightforward packaging calls attention to what is intentionally omitted in each product formula: common hair-care ingredients that natural curls can do without. The list of six "no" ingredients appears on the front of each Nothing But label: petrolatum, mineral oil, sulfates, parabens, colorants and phthalates. What makes Nothing But products clean, condition and style natural curls so effectively is that each contains only the essential, high-performing ingredients curls need ... and nothing but.
