LEARN Northeast, an organization that has long been on the frontlines of the abortion battle, has announced a new facelift for their web site at www.BlackGenocide.org. LEARN stands for the Life Education and Resource Network.

"When it comes to the issue of abortion in the Black community, the Rev. Dr. Johnny Hunter and his wife Patricia have been the national forerunners for truth," states Rev. Dr. Clenard H. Childress Jr., director of LEARN Northeast and founder of BlackGenocide.org.

Childress, along with a team of social activists - many of which he has mentored at his church in Montclair, NJ - has traveled the country bringing the message of Black Genocide to conventions, college campuses with CBR Gap projects, churches and public demonstrations.

BlackGenocide.org was designed solely to bring attention to the decimation of the African American community by the abortion industry. The website has evolved to be a hub for pro-life social activism and networking.  52% of all African American pregnancies end in abortion. 1786 African American children are aborted each day. An African American woman is 5 times more likely to have an abortion than white women. (Allan Gutmaucher Institute).

Black Genocide.org received just fewer than 11 million hits last year.

Childress stresses the importance of getting this message to the inner cities. Presently, he broadcasts in NYC over the largest African American gospel station on the east coast. The program, called The Urban Prophet, can be heard by millions in the inner city regions in the northeast.

"The involvement of clergy and the church is essential," he states. "The African American church has been the catalyst for true social change since its inception. Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King in his letter from a Birmingham jail exhorted the present day church to imitate the early church in their ability to transform communities despite overwhelming opposition."

Childress continues, "Dr. Martin Luther King Jr once said 'that the early church was too God intoxicated to be astronomically intimidated!' The data on abortion in the inner city should let the church know their influence is desperately needed."

According to the most recent statistics, just made available by the New York City Department of Health:

* There were 208,541 pregnancies in New York City in 2010.  They resulted in 124,791 live births and 83,750 abortions, a 40% abortion rate.

* Among non-Hispanic blacks there were far more abortions than births, 38,574 to 26,635, or 60%.   So for every 1,000 African-American babies born, 1,448 were aborted.

* Among Non-Hispanic black teens, the abortion rate was even greater - 5,956 abortions to 2,265 live births, or 72%.  For every 1,000 African-American babies born to teens, 2,630 were aborted.

* The abortion rate among teens as a whole was 63% - 12,139 abortions to 7,207 live births. For every 1,000 babies born among New York City teens 1,684 were aborted.

* 16% of all pregnancies in New York City - 14% of abortions - were with teen mothers.

* 54% of abortions were with mothers in their 20's;

* 30% of abortions were with mothers in their 30's or 40's;

* 14% of abortions were with married mothers.

In direct action to the problem of a disengaged clergy, Rev. Childress and Rev. Michael Faulkner and Greg Fundstien of the Chiros Foundation recently launched an initiative called Metro Clergy for Better Choices. The network consists of clergy and social activists from New York and New Jersey.

LEARN's mission is to continue to enlighten the African American community and the nation on the diabolical systemic assault on the womb of African American women. The recent documentary by Mark Cruthers Life Dynamics MAAFA 21 has helped tremendously in bridging the information gap on Abortion in the Black community.
