The Gay Lobby Agenda has sought to and or has merged itself with the Ganja Rights for Decriminalization being advanced here in Jamaica.  It has done so now with the active lobbying and participation of all the key Human Rights Groups that have traditionally supported the Rastafari Agenda.  Based on the protest around the firing of Professor Bain by the University of The West Indies, that institution has now firmly stated that they are for the support of the Gay Rights Lobby.  This is stated uneqivocally by the Chancellor of the University of The West Indies Nigel Harris.  http://jamaica-gleaner.com/gleaner/20140525/focus/focus1.html

The Rastafari Millennium Council has taken a principled stand on the issue and are aware that various pressure groups will now be targeting the Community directly and it will be felt within the Ganja Rights lobbying.  We are aware that noted Professors such as Horace Campbell who has been involved with the Rastafari Community's intellectualization has recently declared that the Rastafari Commmunity will lose its relevance as a Movement into the 21st Century if we do  not endorse the Gay Rights Lobby.

The Rastafari Millennium Council has been under a lot of pressure based on its principled stand against any incorporation with the UWI and this has been borne out in the recent Global Reggae Studies and Conference outcomes that JIPO ruled as being the intellectual property of the UWI based on its inauguration there by hired Professors.  This has been the core of the RMC's position against the Rastafari Studies Unit and Conference being initiated there in competition to the RMC by Ras Jahlani Niah.   The Rastafari Community's intelligentsia, located principally at UWI, non-support of the RMC's position on Rastafari Intellectual Property Rights has been the core of the many internal fractures that have been arising of late across a variety of spectrums challenging the authority of the RMC in various fora.  

The RMC Consultative Committee that was developed around the last MOU negotiations with UWI for the 2013 Conference  is the source of much of the rift in the Rastafari Community around the Rastafari Millennium Council, because it was seen by RMC's Executives as being a threat and ploy to dilute the agenda and carry the assets of the RMC under the UWI Rastafari Studies Unit. 

The RMC is forthrightly stating that no 50th Anniversary of the visit of H.I.M. to Jamaica in 2016 will be used for any UWI based Rastafari Conference and is asserting the right for a Community based Conference as of this writing to use this thematic development and associated funding.

 It must now publicly and documentally declare its position especially in regards to the stated positions of the UWI and JIPO on their Intellectual Property Rights and the Gay Lobby Agenda.  As of this writing the RMC will be securing a meeting with Professor Archibald McDonald to get this information clearly and legally recognized that the Rastafari Studies Unit and Conference must immediately be delinked from any ownership interest or influence

The RMC has made it clear to the Government and the UWI as they converge around the Ganja Lobby, Research and Development that the Rastafari Community and Intellectual Property has absolutely no engagement at all with the Gay Lobby Agenda and any development of Policy or Funding will not be compromised in any regard.  The Ganja industry is a self-lquidating industry and so it does not need funding from Human Rights Gay Lobby interests such as the Open Society Foundation or any other international quasi-industry partners that have Gay Lobby restrictions like the liqour industry.  This industry out of Jamaica embedded in the Rastafari Cultural norms and operated as a mult-billion dollar illegal export industry, will not be used as an excuse or entry point for the Gay Lobby.  This is why it has been asserted forcefully that a Rastafari Intellectual Property Authority that has been structured by the RMC will be activated forcefully around the Ganja industry.

It has also reiterated to the IOJ re the Rastafari Exhibit that it will not countenance any proprietary moves with this Exhibit where a signed MOU has one year later been lingering in its interpretation and subject to questionable influence by Rastafari Community members who are not cognizant of the broad implications and international societal forces at play within Jamaica or any understanding of corporate business practices that govern trade be it in ideas or goods and services.

The RMC is forthrighly looking at upcoming local governmental elections as indicators, we are already seeing slogans of 'RISE JAH PEOPLE' being initiated and are clearly understanding why this is happening.  The RMC has put forward a petition for the Ganja Industry legalization and a submission that was acknowledged and supported by the outcomes of the recently held Jamaica Cannabis Conference.

At the Jamaica Cannabis Conference we were able to meet with the United States Embassy representative in relation to Rastafari IP Rights where it was forcefully stated that the international uptake, with specific reference to California, was received with educated interest on its implications.  IP is big on the agenda of the USA in Jamaica based on Jamaica's misuse of their IP, it therefore sympathetically dawned on them that the USA is similarly misusing the IP of the Rastafari Community based on its lack of protection so reciprocity and focus is necessary.  

A Reggae Industry IP paper is to be delivered June 3, 2014 at JAMPRO with implications for the Rastafari IP inclusion and rights determination where the RMC is party to how it will be advocated for locally.  A point of inference is where Rastafari and Ganja is stated as being integral to the societal non support of it as a local industry.

The Traditional Knowledge Expressions and Intangible Cultural Heritage negotiations on a Government to Government level speaks to Community Governance Rights and where Governance capacity is not available, Governmental agencies can be negotiated with to govern these rights.  Ras Marcus Goffe's employment at JIPO is not the subject of these form of negotiations for the RMC and so we reiterates that Ras Marcus Goffe's conflict of interest employment at JIPO is the reason for his dismissal from representation of the RMC in any legal matters and that it should now be very clear why and not be the source of any further "Palace Intrigue".

The RMC stands squarely in support of its agenda and is convinced each day of the righteousness of its defense of and guidance by H.I.M. Haile Selassie 1st, JAH Rastafari of the Rastafari Community's Intellectual Property Rights from Pinnacle to Ganja to the Rastafari Exhibit to JIPO to Reparations with Repatriation!
