CARICOM agreed a commission to consider demanding compensations for slavery and genocide against the indigenous populations

The leaders of the Caribbean Community (CARICOM) agreed to shape up a regional commission to demand compensations from former mother countries for slavery and committing genocide against the indigenous population, the media reported today.

During the 34th Summit of the organization, held from July 3-6 in this capital, they gave green light to the shaping up of a national group in each state, the president of which will occupy a seat in the regional commission, Caribbean News Now said.

Antigua and Barbuda Prime Minister, Baldwin Spencer, asserted that slavery and colonialism in the Caribbean deteriorated seriously the development options in the area.

We know that our constant search and struggle for development is directly related to the historic incapacity of our nations to accumulate wealth, due to slavery and colonialism, he stated. [CONTINUES]

      I do wish that we could refrain from name calling.  calling someone stupid shows a total lack of respect for different views.  You don't have to agree with someone to be civil.  the person who stated to Ignore me has a problem Im trying to work with you  not against you peace an love to you any way brother. hotep

    I think this is wonderful that the Caribbean community is working to to demand reparations for it's people .. I also am willing to help organize a similar committee here in the united states. I am located here in California and will be willing to work with anyone who understands that can be no real progress for  African people in America' until this horrible wrong has been corrected.  I can be contacted at   www.nkweku88@comcast.net  hotep

      There is no one coming.

      However, the committee already exist.

      It is called NCOBRA. Empower them.

      IT's possible you did not understand what i meant.  I am already organizing around this effort have been for sometime i was simply trying to reach out to others the more people involved the greater the pressure.  Also i would like to say i am not lacking in motivation..  check your tone.  hotep
