The World African Diaspora Union (WADU) would like thank you for your support, love, and commitment to African life, and the struggles waged for a stronger Africa in 2012. As we prepare for 2013, the 113th anniversary of the formal launching of the Pan African Movement and the 50th anniversary of the establishment of the OAU/AU, your support is more than ever essential to redeem our children, our people, and Motherland.

As you know, WADU opened the year of 2012 countering the massive and unified re-colonial attacks on Africa and African people from Europe, the USA and a number of Arab states starting in 2011(Ivory Coast, Libya, Mali...) The year also began with the transition of our great leaders such as Dr. Dudley Thompson, Rev. T’Ofori-Atta and QM D. Yaa Lewis. Thereafter, Dr. Leonard Kweku Jeffries was elected as WADU new President by the Executive with the full support of Nana Dr. Niara Sudarkasa, Chair of WADU. Since then, Dr. Jeffries and other WADU leaders have traveled across the African world representing the best of African Diaspora and the Pan African agenda. Some of the states we have represented you in 2012 are in Jamaica, Trinidad, Haiti, Ghana, Senegal, Uganda, Washington, DC, Illinois, and South Africa.

In 2012, WADU also initiated a resolution as a recommitment to the work of those like Dr. Dudley Thompson, Rev. Dr. T’Ofori-Atta and QM Dorothy Yaa A. Lewis. The May 14, 2012 WADU/AU tribute and resolution to Ambassador Dudley Thompson at the AU Office in NY called for the AU to prioritize the restoration of African Diaspora rights to citizenship, economic partnerships, reparations, political representation and to act now to establish a union government with the strength to protect Africans from the constant threats of re-colonization and re-enslavement. This WADU Diaspora resolution is the most concrete steps for the AU to restore and secure our rights as African people.

The highlight of WADU work in 2012 was its participation in the May 2012 AU South Africa Global African Diaspora (SAGAD) Summit Declaration. The Declaration was a significant step in promoting the unity of African families, worldwide. This AU Declaration calling for increased economic activities between the Diaspora and Africa though historic, is not sufficient for the fulfillment of essential goals for a united states of Africa. An all African government is critical for full liberation of African people, worldwide. WADU is encouraging all Africans to promote both the AU SAGAD Declaration and the WADU 2012 Resolution through 2013 (see WADUPAM.ORG).

WADU will remain loyal you, our Ancestral legacy and our people, everywhere. Now, we need you to continue to be of service and support to our efforts. Please make a generous financial contribution by sending a Check or Money Order payable to WADU at our office above or to our Paypal account at WADUPAM.ORG.
