"Going to school, a lot of my friends had asthma. The Bronx has some of the highest asthma rates in the country. A lot of buildings in the Bronx and NYC have been burning really dirty oil - and a law was just passed that banned these oils. Most of the buildings are switching to natural gas. But biodiesel is what we should change to. Local businesses go around to our restaurants, and they collect the leftover oil, and they process it. And we can use that to heat our buildings. And it burns 99% cleaner than most oil. We can protect our kids.
Biodiesel is cheaper in the long term and supports our community while natural gas is more expensive in the long term and explodes communities. I'm getting trained to close deals with landlords to make the switch to biodiesel.
I'm going to the People's Climate March because I care about my people from the Bronx and our future generation." #peoplesclimate
