Showdown In America - "Make The Banks Pay"

Have you seen this article by Zach Carter at the Huffington Post reporting on our recent efforts to ensure that the 50-state Attorneys General make a strong settlement against the big banks?

Thanks to you, we've turned up the heat and let them know - in no uncertain terms - that we won't settle for anything less.

But we're not done yet.

The next exciting phase of the fight is launching on Monday, March 7.

Read National People's Action Director's George Goehl's piece in The Nation, "We've Found the Money--And It's on Wall Street" to get a primer. Here's an excerpt:
"Instead of working within the margins of a debate about spending cuts, everyday Americans are ready to go where the money is and put that money back to work with proposals about how to generate revenue for cities, states and the nation. ....

We can change the conversation from spending cuts that cost jobs and prolong the economic crisis to revenue-generating ideas like state taxes on big bank foreclosures or a federal tax on financial transactions."
Then go to www.makewallstreetpay.org and sign up to get the first word on how you can make Wall Street pay.

March 7 is when it all starts.

Stay tuned,
