This Saturday, September 28, 2013 the Universal African Peoples Organization, headed by Zaki Baruti and several other local organizations will hold a press conference at 11:00am in front of the Burger King located at 5025 Delmar, St. Louis, MO. The purpose of the conference will be to alert the public to a nationwide economic withdrawal campaign targeting the Florida based corporation, Burger King. This campaign comes as an extention of the Trayvon Martin travesty and the ongoing racism and racial profiling impacting Black people throughout America. Recognizing that a new and effective strategy needs to be undertaken to counter the ongoing wave of racism and racial profiling, a National Leadership Coalition has been formed. Accordingly, there will be similar actions taken in at least four other cities. These other cities will be made known at the press conference. Finally, in the attachment below, Bob Law, the chairperson of the National Leadership Coalition provides rationale for our action.
