Thank you all for your passion for winning Marissa's freedom and your wonderful work to spread the word! Since our first conference call in mid-June, interest in Marissa Alexander's case has boomed because of the stark contrast between her 20 year sentence and Zimmerman's acquittal. We've been in touch with many of you through the national campaign but with so much happening we feel the need to check in as a group to bring the many new supporters on board and to share the great news of the work being done on many fronts.

So we've added two conference calls to our originally planned schedule. The calls will be held at two different times to accommodate people's schedules:

--Monday, July 29 at 4:30pm PST/7:30pm EST and
--Tuesday, July 30 at 8:30amPST/11:30am EST

To participate in the conference,
Call:  646-307-1300   Code 633883#

Please reply to RadicalWomenUS@gmail.com to let us know which call you prefer to be on so that we have plenty of phone lines available. A copy of the FMN Mobilization Plan is attached in case you have not previously received it. It would be great if you could think about which team you would like to be part of in advance of the conference call.

Here are just a few of the things that have been accomplished in the last 5 weeks:

--Marissa Alexander supporters took part in rallies and marches protesting the Zimmerman verdict

--Jacksonville activists are in the midst of a 5-day march from Jacksonville to Sanford calling for Equal Justice for Trayvon and Marissa

--teams are working on legislative action, outreach to potential endorsers and the faith community, and fundraising

--a letter has been written and is being circulated to domestic violence groups asking their support

--latest endorsers include the National Conference of Black Lawyers, National Coalition Against Domestic Violence, Idle No More - Minneapolis/St. Paul, Toronto Action for Social Change, and Justice for My Sisters

--a benefit concert in San Francisco is set for August 9

--the Oakland local of the International Longshore and Warehouse Workers union passed a resolution supporting the Justice for Trayvon movement and the call to free Marissa

--the Southwest Workers Union has issued a call demanding the resignation of Angela Corey, Florida State Attorney; and the release of Marissa Alexander

--the Free Marissa Now facebook page (facebook.com/freemarissanow) has more than 10,800 likes

--our petition has reached 68,000 signers

--a Tumblr page has been created to feature organizing resources and updates: freemarissanow.tumblr.com

Please participate in the call to share what you've been doing to free Marissa Alexander and to be part of determining our next steps in this important movement.

Call to make peace and justice,
