After the death of Wilbert Tatum, I was told that my pro bono services were not needed at the New York Amsterdam News.  The Black press has informed me that it would lose advertisers if they printed my views or aired my opinions.  This has left me to use the Internet.  I am not the victim.  The victim, however is the Black community.

In the intentional and fatal shooting of Trayvon Martin, for example, the special prosecutor is pacifying the Black community while pursuing a strategy to give George Zimmerman some wiggle room.  The first clue is only a second-degree murder charge against Zimmerman and refusing to charge him with escape.  This helps him in his bail application.  Blacks are being primed for an onslaught of judicial tricks.

Meanwhile, six commercial television stations in the tri-state area are refusing to offer public affairs programming to Blacks.  Last October, WABC-TV killed "Like It Is" without any protest from leading Blacks in the tri-state area.  Blacks are losing "the right to know".  This move allows for Blacks to be dumbed-down.

At my own personal expense, I have been fighting back.  Under FCC law, organizations like December 12th Movement, NAN, POP, CEMOTAP and UAM lack the structure to enjoy "standing" before the FCC.  An effort to build such an organization has been a work-in-progress since last October and mostly at my expense.

Months ago, I had planned to be at the FCC in Washington for at least a week.  I am doing legal and media research at the FCC.  The goal is to provide public affairs programming to Blacks on six commercial television stations in the tri-state area.  This is my tribute to Gil Noble.

Through the efforts of Medgar Evers etal. and United Church of Christ, the right to public affairs programming for Blacks was won in 1966.  This right has been honored in the breach.  Our plight has to be aired nationwide.  Medgar Evers started to militate against censorship beginning in 1954.  Censorship leads to mentacide and, ultimately, to genocide.

I have also asked Utrice Leid, who has also been "whiteballed" because of her stance on behalf of Blacks, to assist me at the FCC in the District of Columbia.  This is an ambitious task.  She is an accomplished journalist.  I must find some money for her volunteer services.  It does not help that she is unemployed.

In addition to the Trayvon Martin case, there are a host of other cases that should be given our in-depth attention in the white media.  The Black press will not be engaged in advocacy journalism and Black lawyers are afraid to speak out against the system and highlight its judicial tricks.

In lieu of advertising dollars, I need your support to continue my work.  It does not help that whites have instructed the Black media to keep me off the air "or else".  Whites can enforce this ban by withholding advertising dollars.  On the other hand, leading Blacks have ordered Blacks not to boycott white businesses.

Utrice is already in the District of Columbia and will be with UAM this weekend on its African-centered tour of Baltimore and Washington.  This also gives us an opportunity to discuss some of the in-depth issues of today with the fact finders.  We need to acquire critical information and the ability to engage in legal and critical thinking.

Freedom is not free.  We are in dire need of information to accurately follow the Trayvon Martin case and to intelligently support the call for justice.  This means information that follows from legal research and legal reasoning.  So far, the legal support for Trayvon Martin is falling far off the mark.  Although George Zimmerman is finally behind bars, he is laying the legal foundation for his permanent release from incarceration on this murder charge.

 Very truly yours,
