RALLY IN SUPPORT OF EDDA LOPEZ
Thursday, May 20, 12:00 noon to 1:00 p.m.
In front of: Bank of America, 248 E. Fordham Rd. corner Valentine Ave. (near Fordham Rd. stop on D
train)
New Day member Edda Lopez is facing foreclosure and the loss of her home to Bank of America. Last August she renegotiated her
mortgage payment with Wilshire Credit Corporation under the new federal
government Homeowners Affordable Modification Program. In March,
2010 Bank of America bought Wilshire Credit Corporation and sent Edda Lopez a
notice refusing to honor that agreement. They stated they were increasing her
mortage and pursuing foreclosure. It is unacceptable for Bank of America to
accept a $45 billion U.S. government bail-out and then turn around and refuse to
cooperate with a federal government program to protect homeowners.
New Day Church will gather to support Edda Lopez outside Bank of America at the corner of Fordham and Valentine on Thursday, May 20 at 12:00 noon. We pray that when
Bank of America realizes that she is part of a powerful faith community that
will stand with her, they will back off from this unfair and inhumane
action.
