Ebola Pandemic: A Pan African Development Response
A Tribute to Baba Elombe Brath historic African Mobilization Committees
With Ambassadors Representing Africa, the Caribbean, Latin America,
Diaspora Officials & Leaders of the Pan African global family

The December 15, 2014 mobilization for support to stop the Ebola epidemic in West Africa is part of the global response during United Nations Human Rights Day (12/10/14) activities. We are especially engaged with Cuba to provide a Diaspora report on the situation of the Pandemic in West Africa. As you are aware, the African Union ChairDr. Zuma lauded Cuba as “the only one that I know is responding with human resources in terms of health doctors and nurses.” Thus, we are to working with IFCO to support Cuba’s effort against the pandemic.

Further, WADU is encouraging all congregations and organizations to establish Africa Task Teams for Action(ATTA) or Brath Africa Mobilization Committees for continuous support to Africa. We are promoting a Human Rights Day special service globally as Africa Sunday on December 14, 2014 and during the Rev. Dr. Martin L. King Jr. Month on Sunday January 11, 2015 to muster more assistance for those suffering and in memory of those died.

Draft -Proposal to launch a new AUDiTT (African Union Diaspora Task Team)
The World African Diaspora Union is proposing to re-launch the African Diaspora Task Team (AUDiTT) as an arm of WADU with other African Diaspora organizations focusing on harnessing the African Diaspora capital that will eventually foster a Pan African banking system (Bank of Africa/in the Diaspora) with those of the African Union for the development of the African Diaspora as an integrated part of Africa. This is especially important for promoting Susu-nomics for self-reliant trade, businesses, entrepreneurship and commerce amongst the African Diaspora, and with Africa, for the economic stability and advancement of Africans under a Union Government.

The original African Union Diaspora Task Team was established in October 2010 after the historic visit of WADU to pressure the African Union leaders in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia to cement the AU relationship with the African Diaspora for a Union Government, Diaspora representation, Reparations, economic partnership, and citizenship. With the guidance of “Legendary” President Dudley Thompson and Chair Rev. Dr. Ndugu T’Ofori-Atta (friend of the Pope or Abuna Paulos of Ethiopia), we left on the historic mission led by WADU Vice President Dr. Leonard Kweku Jeffries; Chief of Secretariat Baba John Watusi Branch; Secretary General Minister P.D. Menelik; and WADUGa Co-Chair Dr. Shariefa Saa.

WADU direct advocacy engagement at the African Union centre during of WADU 2010 Summit in Ethiopia to press for the strengthening of the AU-Diaspora relationships resulted in the following: 1. Expanded engagements of the AU with the Diaspora leaders resulting in the Diaspora increased activities in AU events from 2010-2013; 2. helped foster greater relationships with the AU and the African Diaspora “repatriated” community in Ethiopia who had requested WADU to advocate for them; and 3. Most significantly, WADU spurred the official launching of AUDiTT as the first formal Diaspora organ by CIDO of the African Union Commission (Dr. Jinmi Adisa) for the Diaspora in 2010.

The main intent of AUDITT under the direction of CIDO after it was launched was to develop an AU-African Diaspora Guide which was completed in 2011, and by 2012 to develop a Diaspora skills bank. The Skills Bank project became a key part of a major economic agenda highlighted in the historic AU African Diaspora Legacy Projects at the 2012 AU African Diaspora Summit in South Africa. So far, the Skills Bank and other parts of the Legacy Projects work are incomplete.

The revival of a new AUDiTT with WADU and other Pan African organizations and institutions is to ensure we establish a legitimate and high quality African Diaspora task team leadership to develop the Diaspora skills bank originally recommended by the AU 50th anniversary Pan Africanism & Renaissance (PAAR) Diaspora Legacy Projects. Also, for the new AUDiTT to explore ways to work with key Pan African leaders in African and Diaspora  nations, for the capitalization of the AU original vision and agenda for a fast-track Union Government, by promoting economic investments, credit agencies (banking), businesses, entrepreneurship and trade.
with and under iconic Pan African leaders and ministers.
Finally, the new AUDiTT will advance much of the objectives the recommendation of the African Union which was in consultation with AUDiTT and other Diaspora leaders, but it will not subscribe to any World Bank or foreign economic agenda for Africa.Rather, WADU push for a renewed AUDiTT would be guided by Susu-nomics (African traditional trust system) to support the original intent of Pan Africanism best advanced by Garvey, Nkrumah, Lumumba, Selassie, Sankara, Khaddafi, and others.M
