In LA, three young revolutionaries were convicted November 19 of serious misdemeanor charges from an arrest at a national protest against police murder on April 14, 2015, when train tracks were blocked in non violent civil disobedience. They are facing up to 3 years in jail. Seven others, from different perspectives, are also facing upcoming trials from this arrest.  More at Outrageous Convictions of A14 Defendants!

That day, in over 30 U.S. cities, thousands took the streets. In LA, over 1,000 people participated in this protest which included high school walkouts, a march through Skid Row and the shutting down of the Blue Line train for over an hour. This national day of protest helped to keep open the door of mass resistance against murder by police which began in 2014... In addition, numerous people from the Black Lives Matter movement and others who filled the streets in the last year and a half to protest police terror are all also facing upcoming trials...

Stop Mass Incarceration Network demands:
  • Drop the charges on those arrested for protesting murder by police.
  • No jail time for political resisters.
  • Stop Police Terror!

3828842821?profile=originalNoche Diaz in Court Thursday, Fighting for Unjust Protest Charges to be Dropped

Noche Diaz has been in court 8 times over the last 15 months, defending himself against arrests in August and November 2014, when he was involved in protests of the police killing of Michael Brown.  Each time, the NYPD has thrown a list of typical protest misdemeanor charges on him, such as Obstructing Government Administration, resisting arrest, harassment, and disorderly conduct.  His attorneys fought successfully to get some charges dropped, but others were added.

The office of the district attorney of Manhattan, Cyrus Vance Jr., has moved to "join" both arrests into one trial, a move defense opposed.  Thursday, December 3, the court will hold a hearing on the defense motion to maintain separate trials, and against the state's contention that Noche has a pattern of illegal activity.  More from New Developments in Battle to Defend Noche Diaz

Please send support statements to me at carlmdix@gmail.com and we will present them to the DA.  Carl
