THREE WEEKLY STATEMENTS
BY H. KHALIF KHALIFAH
End of the year statements have been the traditional way that notable Black men and women used to summarize the highlights of the present year in which they lived. It has not been an exception for the life and work of perhaps, Black Americas premier journalist over the last 40-years-in- service to the communications needs (building systems) of Black people: Elder H. Khalif Khalifah.
Billed as “Prospects for Freedom,” inspired by one of the popular speeches of Minister Malcolm X, some of Khalifah’s early career statements are captured in a collection of his writing:“The Words, Acts and Deeds of Khalifah: 1982 to 1992.” Others will be in a book currently being edited for the period of “. . .1992 to the Year 2012,” the projected year for its completion.
ON THE AIR DECEMER 19 AT 3 P. M.
However, the year in question is 2010. Using near “cutting edge technology,” Khalifah will sum up his commentary and work during the year 2010 in three hour long statements across internet based radio stations and shows, beginning this Sunday afternoon at 3 P. M. on, at the least, a radio show on blogtalkradio.com called “Black News Updates.” At 3 pm.
The Sunday Show will follow in quick secession during the following week: Saturday, December 25 on Christmas Day at 3:00 P.M. and the following Wednesday, December 28 at 12 noon.
THE MOST PROLIFIC JOURNALISTOF
THE CURRENT ERA: 1973 to 2010
H. Khalif Khalifah may be the least known amongst the giant minds of Black America over the past 40 years - in service to Black America.
He published the first of some 600 separate book titles in 1973; wrote the first of 15 books he personally wrote or edited in 1975; published and edited two signature, international newspapers from 1982 to the year 2001 (The National Newport News and Commentator & Your Black Books Guide), fathered and raised 5 children through the Love of three wives, worked in formation with one of the legends of the 20th century in the building of N’COBRA (The National Coalition of Blacks for Reparations in America), Dr. Imari I. Obadele, Opened a 10,000 sq ft building in downtown Hampton, Virginia that housed the most complete collection of Books in history - in one place that were written and printed “by, for or about black people,” he co-founded and owned a Private Community Based School called “Your Harambee Home School,” helped to organize The Million Man March (on National Organizing Committee, 42 buses came to the MMM from the area).
Khalifah was the Liaison For N’COBRA to the Million Man March, Served on the National Board of Directors for N’COBRA for 6-years, stood for election for the National Leadership, the Co-Chair for N’COBRA in 2001 and 2004; also, served as Co-Chair of the Human Resources Commission for N’COBRA; Founded two chapters for N’COBRA, hosted the Annual Reparations Convention for N’COBRA in the year 1998, Founded and have presided over 19 Black Book Awards for Excellence in Black Literature since 1977 in Harlem, New York, Co-Sponsor of and call for the creation of a “Pro-Media Network” before a potential audience of 50 million, that have been magnified untold millions of times, via replays, on the internet, covered by C-SPAN at Howard University of Law on the Eve of The 10th Anniversary of the Million Man March, October 15, 2005.
A Black Farmer, Khalifah bought a 123 acres tract of farmland Birth Place of Nat Turner; established the Nat Turner Trail, of which he is a Senior Tour Guide and expert about the history of Revolt of Nat Turner and the BLA of 1831; he Founded the Nat Turner Reference Library in 2007 on the Birth Land of Nat Turner, convened a plenary and preliminary conference, October 30 in a call for NAT TURNER CONVENTION 2011, August 21, 2011.
Khalifah and his deceased wife Reda Faard Khalifah were instrumental in the changing of the face and prevalence of Black literature in the world: they were mainstays in the Black Books Movement during the 1990: never again will it be difficult to find books that are written by Black people, about Black people.
The above are just some of Khalifah’s accomplishments and involvements. But perhaps the most notable, and also the most pleasing things he has involved himself in is the fact that he has been a practicing Black Muslim (student of the “Teachings” of The Honorable Elijah Muhammad) in the Nation of Islam, during the entire life of his accomplishments.
To satisfy his spiritual _expression_, he is available Sunday Morning at 10 in the study, in a round-table discussion of “Message to the Blackman Study;” an examination, via questions & answers to determine EXACTLY what The Honorable Elijah Muhammad advised, or said about whatever is introduced into the discussions.
