Background
The huge Armory Site which has been declared a national landmark has now been transferred from New York State control to New York City. When renovated, this building could house many programs and facilities for community health care and for the Medgar Evers sports and athletic programs. At this point the city is silent and secretive about its plans for the use of the space.
LET THE COMMUNITY DECIDE We want a facility that benefits the greatest number of Central Brooklyn Residents as well as the students of Medgar Evers College. We demand an Open House to allow interested groups and residents to view the available space. We demand a Community Hearing at the Armory Site to allow maximum participation in the decision-making with respect to the Armory’s future. |
