Chairman Omali Yeshitela is making this emergency appeal for resources for the ASI work: ![]() "This is a call for much needed resources to forward the international work being led by the Party to build the African Socialist International. "I am making this call despite my awareness of the tremendous resources you have contributed and committed to prior to this call, commitments I am hoping will not be disrupted by this call. "It is a reluctant call, based on the reality that the ASI work has not yet built a resource-generating capacity of it own, something that is on the agenda for the next period of ASI work. "The resources are needed for the work in Europe, where the Party is currently building a solid ASI foundation in Belgium that would join the APSP UK, the Party formation leading all the ASI work in Europe. "Just as in the U.S., the economy throughout Europe is experiencing severe crisis. However, in Europe the crisis has a different, more pronounced impact on the African community. This is because many of the Africans in Europe are relatively recent arrivals without supportive kinship ties and are also facing a wave of anti-immigrant xenophobia and scapegoating that is increasingly characterizing European politics. "Our organizers in Europe have influenced, led, and/or participated in major anti-colonial mobilizations in Europe, especially in Belgium and France.
