Saturday September 15, 2018 husband and wife team Joe and Gwen Ragsdale reopened the Lest We Forget Slavery and Holocaust Museum at their new location 5501 Germantown Avenue in the lower level of the Germantown Historical Society building. The museum contains actual artifacts, photographs, papers and memorabilia from the US enslavement period and twentieth century lynchings, KKK and the negative media caricature depictions of people of African descent. The Ragsdales collected over 4 thousand artifacts most of which is currently in storage. They do traveling lectures, and conduct tours by appointment only in their new location. The Universal African Dance and Drum Ensemble performed outside and the museum was open for tours all afternoon.
