Help Dr. Umar Johnson acquire St. Paul's College campus to establish a school for Black children

You know, I must get this off my chest. So, please bear with me as I go through this brief rant. I was solicited by Dr. Umar a few months ago about his admirable effort to acquire this school to create a boarding school for black boys. Immediately I sent a small contribution toward his effort because I admire him, his lectures and his take on most things.

Yet, to this day, I have never received an acknowledgement, receipt or thanks from Dr. Umar or anyone else connected to this campaign. I have never received a status report regarding the campaign, so I don't know if he has dropped the idea or not.

Now, I receive this plea and wonder, "Where are our male role models? Where are the men that will set an example for our young black men? What is wrong with us, as a people, when we cannot even manage the common courtesy of a "thank you"?"

This failure to communicate causes me personally to wonder about the earnestness of this effort to acquire the property and run a credible school. I sincerely hope I am wrong and will be corrected in the near future. Indeed, my hope is these comments will stimulate a correction that will cause all of us to have confidence in this campaign. Unfortunately, at this time, I would not recommend supporting such a slip-shod campaign. Shalom family.
