Chicago, IL Chicago's Black grassroots and a national organization endorsements are rolling in for Jimmy Lee Tillman, II ( R) for the upcoming November election in the 1st Congressional District. The republican long shot is gaining key support from political heavyweights who want a candidate that will answer to the community and be voice to those ignored here and abroad.

Eddie Read, chairman of CBUC/BIPO, the grassroots organization founded by the late Lou Palmer says,

We feel that the First Congressional District needs a different kinda representative during these challenging times. Tillman has a firm grasp on the “Issues Situations & Conditions” that the Disenfranchised Impoverished Grassroots Individuals are facing. His well thought out focus on how to deal with the current Presidential Administration will be a welcomed change to the “Don’t Meet Don’t Talk” Position of the current Democrats. Many people across this country are suffering do to the failure of our elected officials to sit with each other simply because they are not of the same political party. “Enough All Ready”. The partisan bickering is tearing away at the fabric of our communities and the stability of of our people.

Ron Carter, founder of Black Wall Street-Chicago, joins the lists of endorsements from the business community who says that Tillman's election will “break the stranglehold that the Democrat party has on the Black community.” Carter is the editor of the South Street Journal that has also endorsed Tillman.

Darva Watkins of Women are Rising a grassroots organization on the south-side, says she has always worked with Tillman and “look forward to having my organization hit the ground and tell voters they have a choice. The folks in the streets are ready for something new.”

The Assyrian American National Republican Coalition endorses Tillman in the 1st district because of his support for Christians that are being persecuted in the Middle East. Tillman agrees with the creation of a permanent safe haven in the Nineveh Plain region of Iraq for those religious minorities that are being slaughtered.
