Winning the War - Being Accountable to the People

Greetings All -
william say - "we black folks have won the political battle. we have the ultimate prize, the presidency, yet what has that meant for the majority of black folks and poor whites."
POWERFUL

without a decisive and targeted focus on "improving the quality of life for BLACK FOLKS", all our "political victories" are hollow.  even claiming to presidency of the usa is meaningless, which is evidenced by the "progress" We have made order the past 6 years.  in mississippi, we simply need to revisit the high number of negro elected "leaders" and compare that to the "progress" we have been to close the wealth gaps, economic gaps, educational gaps, health gaps, business ownership gaps, government and private contract/procurement gaps and so long.

as soon as We stop apologizing for wanting social and economic equality, at the cost of injuring the "good ol' boys" feelings, the sooner We can CREATE the equity we been beggin', and keep beggin', for. we can definitely stop beggin' when and if our "Black leadership" internalizes the Seven Life Principles of the Nguzo Saba, at least.  Black Jackson (Jacktown) be on the lookout for the Altruistic Business Corporation for Developing  Enterprise as an example for the "Black leadership", and Grassroots masses, on how to improving the quality of life for BLACK FOLKS.

again, thanks to brother william for putting the idea of Black leadership accountability on the table.

Subject: Mississippi poverty comes into focus
one of the things that is perplexing to me is what have we done at the local, county, state and congressional level with the political victories.  there is no reason to continue to blame republicans for some of the mess we are in. you can look at a city where two major colleges have black leaders, a black mayor, a majority black city council and board of supervisors, a majority black school board and a black superintendent, extremely successful black lawyers, black judges, etc  and you still have poor blacks and whites in extreme poverty.  and all we have to say about the situation is republicans.  and i believe all those black persons are 99% democrats.  we black folks have won the political battle. we have the ultimate prize, the presidency, yet what has that meant for the majority of black folks and poor whites.
black america looks like black africa. a few at the top and the rest of us in hell.

Subject: Mississippi poverty comes into focus

 – R.L. Nave
“The U.S. Census Bureau put out new 2012 poverty statistics last week which show that the number of people who lack insurance—one of the main reasons for poverty in the U.S.—continues to decline due, in part, to Obamacare… Meanwhile, poverty in Mississippi—which is one of the nation's least healthy states based on a number of indicators—remains high. The Census report shows that Mississippi's 2012 poverty rate of 24.2 percent leads the nation… Mississippi, which was one of only three states that saw an increase in the poverty rate, along with California and New Hampshire, also has the lowest median income in the nation: $37,095 compared to the national average of $51,324… Mississippi officials delivered another potential blow to the citizens they represent last week. Three Republican members of the state's four members of the U.S. House of Representatives, voted to slash nearly $40 billion over 10 years from the federal food stamp program, a 5 percent reduction to the nation's main feeding program that more than one in seven Americans use.”
