When I'm 84
Rodneyc//12
Will you hide me behind the door
Make a scene cause I forgot the score
The game of life got me under a rock
Now that I’m 84.
Will you forget the times I cried
Alongside the paths we once tread
I could run then, and laugh-not so
Now that I’m 84
Will I be your source of shame
When before I was your pride and joy
Will you put me away –to that place of indifference
When I’m 84.
Will you remember the times I struggled
To provide, shelter, and clothe you
Or will you remember the shoulders you relied upon
When I’m 84.
Will I be just another burden
Will I cease to be of any use
Will I be discorded like yesterday’s news
When I’m 84.
Will you care, do I dare grow old
Will I matter, or should I prepare now
For that moment
When I’m 84.
