FRANCE
4/10-Day 1-We fly from NY to France thru Air France (6 hour flight). Brother
Rashid will pick us up at the airport. We will Check in a 4 Star Hotel,
early that morning. Rest, eat. do a quick tour of Paris, France in the p.m.
R&R. That evening we will eat at a great restaurant in Paris.
4/12-Day 2-Eat Breakfast at a French cafe, Brother Rashidi will tour us at
the Lourve Museum, along with other famous African Sites. That night we will
head to Dakar. This is a 5 hour flight.
SENEGAL(group will meet us in Dakar that a.m.)
4/13-Day 3- When we arrive to Dakar we will see sights like the President’s
House, Cheikh Anta Diop University, Markets, MLK Boulevard, Beautiful
shoreline, The African Renaissance Monument, and Cliffs of Senegal on route
to our hotel. Those who are interested will attend a “Just For You” Club
to See a. Great Performance, Eat, and Dance” Back to the Hotel -
Sleeeeeeeeep!!!
4/14-Day 4- - Visit a school in Dakar where we will bring donated gifts and
shadow the students. Visit Senegalese and friends. Take a Dance and drum
class. Enjoy delicious Senegalese cuisine. Get measured for custom made
clothes, particularly white clothes for Goree and any other clothes, shoes,
jewelry, etc. Go to the beach. That evening, go to the “Just for You Club”.
4/15-Day 5-Visit the Christian City of Jowal that morning. Return to Lac
Rose. Take advantage of what it has to offer: swimming pool, riding horses,
camels, doon buggies, and more. Attend a conference in which Brother Rashidi
will do a presentation of his work and show footage of his amazing trips,
documenting African Presence all over the world at Chiekh Anta Diop
University. Rest and relax or go to the club that night in Dakar.
4/16-Day 6-Travel to Gambia early that morning, if we have time we will shop
in a tourist town called Sale. We will eat lunch there. Stay at the Gambia
Hotel.
4/17-Day 7 – Visit Juffre the ancestral home of Kunta Kinte and Alex Haley
and other sites. Enjoy a Raggae Concert that night. Stay at the Gambia
Hotel again. Sit on the beach relax.
4/18-Day 8 - Visit more sites in Gambia if we have time after breakfast.
Leave late morning. En Route to Dakar, visit a village of Koalack, Senegal
where Viola Vaughn an African American woman from Detroit started and
entrepreneurship program called “10000 Girls”

4/19-Day 9- Take classes on how to make drums, shoes, sew, and Tye Dye.
(pick two classes). Visit artisans to collect clothes, shoes, jewelry, etc.
Go see concert. After the concert, attend a Tandabeer which will be a
celebration in our honor. It’s like a street party home coming!
4/20-Day 10- Journey to Goree Island, the last point before millions of our
Africans were forced to come to the Americas. We will be honoring these
Ancestors in our white attire. Listen to a profound lecture and tour the
grounds. The traumatic experience of the middle passage begins here. It will
help us to understand the plight of Africans in the Diaspora as well as in
Africa. Also, we will eat together and talk about African history and
significance of coming back to Africa. Dancing and drumming will take place
on the Island.
4/21-Day 11- Visit Touba, the Holy City in Senegal of Amadou Bamba. Visit
his Library where he wrote 7000 books and the mosque dedicated to his mother.
Eat with famous spiritual leaders before heading back to Dakar.
4/22-Day 12- (uChoice Day) Stay in Dakar and go the African Renaissance
Monument (the largest Monument in the world) then downtown Dakar to do more
shopping. Take dance and drum classes. Eat at the French Cultural Center.
Head to the airport that night to go to France or New York.
Back in NY by the p.m. on Day 13-4/23.

$600 due April 1st – No refunds after March 1st
Latecomers after March 1st may have to pay more ($50-250) for their plane
tickets, may have to leave after the group.
