James A. Akintonde, president and founder of The Ujamaa Construction Company made a personal visit to The National Black Wall Street Chicago offices yesterday!!! (see pic). He also met at length with veteran activist/consultant Bob Israel, so stay tuned for the report on what they had to discuss about their ongoing relationship personally and professionally and about his plans to have more Black community contractors and workers on his sites on 83rd Street and across the city.!
Last week I reported on the FACE TO FACE meeting I was called to and just participated in at the urging of Alderman Howard Brookins Jr with James A. Akintonde, president and founder of The Ujamaa Construction Company along with a delegation of activists, members of The National Black Wall Street Chicago Black Contractors and Construction Workers Coalition led by Bob Israel, African American Contractors Association, and others on the issue of lack of Black community contractors and workers at the site he is the General Contractor on 83rd & Stewart. It was a GREAT meeting of the minds which reminded me of the legendary song "Brothers Gonna Work It Out," and there will be more to report but I will state that I am confident that Ujamaa is a certified and should be supported Black General Contractor and I believe his words that he will take personal control of this project and that the Black community will be pleased with the future reports on the hiring of Black contractors and workers.

The REAL problem is that, why did a meeting have to take place about shit like THIS. We have MANY other issues that need addressing. Aint no WAY that a meeting was supposed to happen with a BLACK General Contractor to TALK about hiring BLACK people. If he don't want to hire US, fuck him. He already SHOWED his hand on how he THINK. Aint THAT enough. Why support a nigga who think like THAT. See, this is WHY we can't get shit done because we got niggas like THIS who wants to be RULED by THEM & we got niggas like US, who want to rule OURSELVES & WE don't have to have no damn meeting about hiring OUR own. That shit is a GIVEN. We need to pay CLOSE attention to the sell outs & start calling a spade a SPADE. Fuck all that sugar coating & soft shoeing.
