We wanted to take a moment this holiday season to thank you for making so much possible this year and being active members of the Food Democracy Now! community. We have something special that we’d like to share with you.

Earlier this month, we were excited to be a part of the Occupy Wall Street Farmers’ March where family farmers and rural activists from across the country travelled to New York to join in solidarity with our urban allies and the OWS movement as we work to reclaim our democracy from the abuses of corporate power.

We put together a short video of the day’s events.

Please click on this link or the video below to watch the incredible story of the Occupy Wall Street Farmers March.

Occupy Wall Street Farmers March

This short video chronicles the journey of Jim Gerritsen, an organic farmer from Maine, who made his first trip to New York City to take part in the Occupy Wall Street Farmers March and share his urgent message about the threats posed to family farmers everywhere by agribusiness corporations. Gerritsen is the lead plaintiff, and our co-plaintiff, in an historic lawsuit against the biotech seed and chemical giant, Monsanto, challenging their patents on seeds.

Your support of Food Democracy Now! this year made it possible for Jim to make this journey and tell his story.

We would like to thank Occupy Wall Street, the OWS food justice working group and all the farmers and citizens, urban and rural, that participated in the day's events.

Thank you for participating in food democracy-

Dave, Lisa and the Food Democracy Now! Team
