The Sistahood Empowerment project will be a mini-conference for 60-75 (100 maximum) young ladies, high school through college freshmen age, focusing on providing empowerment information in the five traditional topic areas of the annual symposiums. The mini-conference will offer two plenary sessions, Women’s Issues in Law & Government and Women’s Health & Wellness, and three concurrent rotating workshops, Economic Self-Sufficiency, Women in History (called Herstory) and Cultural Development & Enrichment.
The project objectives are 1. providing a mechanism for social and spiritual networking; 2. bonding for young women through community problem identification and soulutions identification; 3. planning strategic problem solving strategies; 4. capacity building to manage life for self empowerment in their homes and community and 5. building strong self reliance and high self esteem in the mini-conference participants.
