Ms. Cheyenne Bell was a long time community activist and civil rights leader, who spent over 10 years as Director of Community Programs at San Francisco's Juvenile Hall. It was her foresight that brought non-profit organizations, such as CYWD, to offer hope, educational opportunities and services to at-risk youth in detention. Her work incorporated the values that CYWD holds close including; sisterhood, self-determination, social justice and spirituality. Ms. Bell passed away in 2005 and her presence is greatly missed. This event is held in her honor.
